Ye Olde Sturbridge Village: a made-uppe historie

Chapter XIII: Ye censorshoppe

Censor-shippe has not allways beene a matter of crudelie burning a pile of offensive bookes. In Ye Olde Sturbridge Village, it was a well-honed crafte. Here, one trades-man tortures an unseemlie booke in the vise, hopingge to squeeze out its insolence, whilst the other care-fullie dis-assembles an eville novel page-by-page. Each page was then fed to the offendingge author, who was subsequentlie burned at the stake.
