Ye Olde Sturbridge Village: a made-uppe historie

Chapter XV: Here comes a parade!

Spring was a tyme to look forwarde to in Ye Olde Sturbridge Village. Flowers bloomed, green grasse coveredde the hill-side, and the muche-anticipatedde Springge-Tyme Parade was held, in whiche the entire village marched downe the main street of the town. Un-fortunately, as in this photo-graph of the Parade of MDCCCXXXII, dysenterie often wipedde out moste of the population of the village, leavingge nothing but a man in a funnie hat and his goat. None-the-less, the Aprille MDCCCXXXII issue of Ye Old Sturbridge Villageer claims that this was one of “the most success-ful Springge-Tyme Parades on record”.
