Ye Olde Sturbridge Village: a made-uppe historie

Chapter XX: 'Tis morningge again

Morningge in Ye Olde Sturbridge Village means tyme for the flagge to go up the flagge-pole! The job of flagge-raiser was a prestigious one in those tymes — so much so that the flagge-raiser was not allowed to holde any other job. Un-fortunately, this meant that only the least-employable villagers took the positionne, which in turn meant that the flagge-raisers were the first to be fired in difficult economic tymes. Eventuallie, the job was replaced by a clever clock-worke mechanism inventedde by Benjamin Franklin.
